Another beautiful day in paradise…Had to spend part of the day yesterday in the garden building a raised bed for some new strawberry plants that I picked up that needed to be planted. I did manage to get some good quality time on the latest project I am building.

This is a custom mahogany and walnut pizza peel in the early stages. Once the sanding and shaping is completed a custom letter will be carved in the face for the customer. It has been a learning experience in this project and as always a lesson learned the hard way will hopefully never be repeated. At least I try to learn from all experiences. The peel will be a very nice and unique project once it is completed. Other projects in process are cribbage boards, cutting boards, stools, picture frames, and my display stands. Projects in the wings awaiting additional input from customer are custom made kitchen table, corner tv stand, shelving unit for a office and it sounds like I am in the process of receiving another order for a pizza peel. Life is good with the sweet smell of sawdust and splinters. Have a great rest of the day..
Greetings from my world….delivered the picture frame posted a few days ago today so spent most of the day in town and not in the shop…Back to it in AM having fun in the shop…. Until then …..
Greetings again..it is another great day in these northwoods of Montana. It has been a nice cool day highs in the 50’s and clouds..However the freshness in the air makes one forget all about the rest of the world troubles for a time. Great day to work in the shop.. creating more sawdust and wood shavings. The order for the pizza peel is coming along quite nicely. The grains and patterns of the wood which are popping up as I go tell me it is gonna be awesome. Between gluing up of projects and sanding projects I have been working on creating a display rack for my booth once I start going to shows. Have to work up a couple price estimates for picnic tables for a prospective customer later tonight. Worked on website for a while in early am and walked the dog’s throughout the day a couple times.
Had lunch with Mrs Splinters and her coworker in a local establishment. Great Taco soup as always every Thursday during the summer. So as you can see life is busy and good here in these north woods. Have a great rest of the day…
Living in these great north woods of Montana near the Continental Divide change of weather is the only sure thing around to speak of…and it has again. This morning it has cooled (65) and overcast. had good rain last evening and night with more forecast for the rest of the week. Life is good in the land of OZ.
Shop work is moving right along with lots of projects in progress and more orders coming in each day. I love it bring them on. Got approval yesterday to attend the Whitefish Farmers Market…but not quite ready for this week…hopefully next week if all goes well.
Well I hear the sawdust and splinters calling me to unclamp and reclamp more projects. Until the dust clears and I find my way back here…Have a great day….
Latest project I just finished:
