Lake Mcdonald with a couple sucker holes of blue skies today.

The mysteries of St Marys…
Well winter came in with a force and I have spent much of the last couple days clearing driveways and around the house. We ended up with 12-14 inches here on the level and drifts 2-3 feet. Along with all this was a strong wind with temps in single digits. Today was a bit better but now they are forecasting another front to hit us tonight and tomorrow… Guess that means I am about ready to start over….hmmm I could be looking for warm dry weather soon…wherever that might take me.

Many Glacier… east side winter in Montana
St Marys… east side winter weather
Looks a bit cool in Many Glacier today…it is cool and snowy also here on the west side…trying to readjust from the holiday feast yesterday..hope everyone survived… Have a great day…
Happy Thanksgiving……
It is a windy cold day in my part of the world…Enjoy your day and be mindful of all we have to be thankful for!! The wood stove is glowing and the turkey is on the grill…the trimings are being prepared…the day has begun with good food, family and friends to share the festivities.
Have a great day!!!
Nice quiet snowy/rainy day with more forecast for the next day or so. Not a good day for photos…will try again tomorrow.. Good day for sitting in front of the wood stove with a good book and and a nice warm drink of your choice. It is a time when we all need to take a look at what we have to be thankful for. In the past weeks we have found out of friends who are begining treatment for cancer of one type or another. Not a fun to happen anytime but most certainly not during the holidays. Please take a moment to sent some positive thoughts this way and to think of all you have to be thankful for.

Another photo taken during heavy rain/snow runoff. This is a spectacular falls in a very beautiful low-visited area of the park.

This was Avalanche Creek during major snow/rain runoff last week. I have been looking for a normal level picture but havent found one yet, but I will. Had a dusting of snow last nite here at the house… Flattop Mountain in the park at 6300 feet shows 30.9 inches of snow. Trees are all frost covered this am….looks like another beautiful day in paradise…

This is what is left of one section of the road after recent heavy rains.
Another round of storms are heading our way from the northwest…most snow is staying high right now but forecast is for it to move down closer to the valley. Getting lots of rain and high winds….exciting times here in this northwest Montana wonderland…
